This morning was the first Isaac has not woken up in pain during the night and has not required middle-of-the-night pain meds. I am so relieved we are turning a corner! The self declared "best day of Isaac's life" quickly turned into a painful recovery about three days post op. The throat forms scabs on the back. When they begin coming off and expose the tender skin underneath, this causes A LOT of pain. In addition, Isaac complained of intense ear and jaw pain. This is actually nerve pain that radiates through his head. Thankfully, that too seems to be subsiding.
Hopefully he's on the mend! Right now he is happily watching Magi Nation and drinking some chocolate milk. He's getting his appetite back just in time for Thanksgiving!
