Chloe's Zoo Trip

Yesterday, Matt, Chloe and I were the only ones home (all of the older children had a visit weekend), so we decided to take little Chloe to the zoo!  She had been to the zoo one other time in the past for "Christmas at the Zoo", but she was very small and the weather was terrible, so we didn't get to see very many animals.  Normally, we would wait and take all the kids, but all five of the oldest have either already been to this zoo or the one by our house.  Also, while having older children to help with the younger ones is a blessing, it can also be nice to be the only one in charge and have some one-on-one time with each of them.  Anyway, we had a really great time.  Chloe really loved all of the animals, and this zoo had a lot of interactive stations where the kids could get close to the animals.  While Chloe is a very independent and spirited little girl (which means she can totally frustrate me at times :), I am very grateful to have her as my daughter.  She is a sweet little girl full of fun and adventure.  Spending time with her and my husband yesterday was a true gift.
Chloe in the lion's den!  It is kind of crazy the only thing separating her and this giant lion was plexiglass - yikes!

Daddy and Sissy - I love her cute smile in this picture.

Chloe was scared out of her mind to ride the pony!  She kept yelling, "Mommy!" with her arms reaching for me.  However, the tears didn't last long...

Here she is after the ride was over - all smiles! She was so happy to pet the horse and even wanted to ride another one!

Brushing the goats - There was a cool farm exhibit that was a hit in Chloe's eyes!  You could go into the goat pen and brush the goats.  (While Matt was trying to get a picture, one of the goats started eating his shirt!)

I included this picture because of the back story.  Chloe was not scared of the goats at all!  This particular goat was trying to get away.  She scolded it and said, "No goat!  Come here!"  Then, she decided just to hold it by the neck so it couldn't escape!

Ten minutes after leaving the zoo, she was out!
