Last night, Matt took both boys to the Father/Son Camp Out. This was Isaac's first time on a church camp out, and he had a BLAST! He came back this morning with a dirty little face and dirty feet. He asked if he could skip his bath because he wanted to "smell like camp". I smiled and said no, a bath was in order. :) One of his friends from church, Jason, was also there last night which was a definite high light for him. Matt said they roasted marshmallows, ate candy, tried to light sticks into torches, touched a snake (good thing mom wasn't there or this wouldn't have happened) and chased each other in the woods with flash lights until 11 last night. This morning, the High Priests brought fresh fruit and cinnamon rolls with juice for the boys to eat for breakfast. They were home around 10 this morning, and needless to say, I have some tired boys! Drew also had a good time. (He is an old pro at camping, so it wasn't quite as red letter for him. Although he did tell me that he was glad dad was able to go. :) He is a really good example for Isaac. He let Isaac hang out with him and his friend Ben for awhile. Isaac was excited to have made friends with one of Drew's friends. It was a good night for them to spend boy time together.
While the boys were gone, the girls relaxed and watched a movie! Bri and Jen are visiting their biological mom this weekend, so before they left around 8 pm last night, we rode bikes, took a walk to the neighborhood park and played basketball out front. After they left, Mattie and I got Chloe ready for bed, and then we watched a girl movie on Netflix and ordered Jimmy John's. It was nice to spend time as girls too.
It has been a fun weekend! Sorry there are no pictures! Matt has a video of Isaac and his friends running around at camp, but it is too big to email. As soon as he dumps his phone to the computer, I'll post it!
